"Hi I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr Green Thumb for On Gardening. One of the favorite plants that I grow is the Podocarpus, why? Because Podocarpus is tough rough little of plant. You won't have any real blooms as such but it will give you a nice yew looking plant. A lot of folks up north grow yews, well you can grow Podocarpus through much of the country as well. Podocarpus can get to be about fifty feet tall, but typically we're going to keep this as a hedge plant, maybe at two feet, three feet, four feet or five feet. You're going to let it pick a level where you want to block a view and it makes a nice full hedge. It's probably the aristocrat of hedge plants. Why? Because it's nice and thick, you keep this plant trimmed, often you'll see some of the amusement parks where they have the topiaries, what do they use? Well this is one of the plants that they use because it'll adapt to the different wires and screens that they use in a topiary. Podocarpus, wonderful plant for you, makes a good hedge plant and I encourage you to grow it. Fertilize it maybe every two to three months, bright full sun light and its a tuffy. For On Gardening, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr Green Thumb"
