"Hi I'm Stan DeFreitas "Mr. Green Thumb" for On Gardening. One of the most delicate little plants we have is the Episcia or sometimes called Episcia which depending on how you want to pronounce it. But isn't it a beautiful little plant that'll grow in partial shade? Wouldn't have it in direct full sun but for a porch or for a patio it is an excellent plant. It's got little pink blooms, some of them will be different colors, sometimes white, sometimes purple. Has nice variegation in the foliage and if it looks like an African violet well it's a second cousin of the African Violet. Probably a little easier to grow you can simply break off a leaf or break off a stem put it into the ground. Good potting soil, make sure it gets enough moisture, a lot of times people will go ahead and put a wicking dike system into the bottom of the pot. That usually means a little bit of yarn but if you want to take them out sometime you can repot it into one size a little bit larger. You can see it's in a good peat pearly, pearl like type soil, you're going to plant it about the same depth that it was before. Never plant it more than one size larger container and if you do that you're going to have great results. Episcia's easy to grow beautiful little plant, for On Gardening I'm Stan DeFreitas "Mr. Green Thumb"."
