Covering an EarthBox

"For On Gardening I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Green Thumb. Earth box, of course we've talked about a perfect soil which we have, we've talked about it being recycled plastic which it is, now we're going to talk about, and we've talked about the filler tube and we've talked about the screen at the base. When you use this bonnet if you will or shower cap as I like to call it sometimes, you're going to put it all the way over the box, it kind of fits in all over the edge. And when you do that you have an area that you can hold the moisture into the box. That's important, everybody wants to conserve moisture these days. This is one of the most efficient ways that I know to go ahead and plant into your earth box. You've got your filler tube, you're going to cut down on your evaporation and you're going to hold the weeds away. And that's important, nobody likes to weed. When you've got this cover over, you're not going to have to worry about weeds being everywhere, because they can't come through it, the seeds aren't going to be able to germinate. So what you plant into the earth box, let's say you cut your hole and you put your tomato plant, or your pepper plant or your broccoli, you can put it right into here and you're going to have good results and no weeds.
