"For On Gardening, I'm Stan DeFreitas, "Mr. Green Thumb". We've been talking about earth boxes. Well the earth box, we've talked about it being good technology. You can see it has the screen down here. We've got a perfect, near perfect soil. See the peat and see the little white material, it's called pearl light. Pearl light's exploded at about 1,800 degrees and that helps to make sure it's sterile. If you don't have a sterile soil, well you can't have good results. The peat moss of course is something that has been under water for millions of years and it's relatively sterile too. Now you want to make sure you cover the screen over, so we're going to take this and push it to all sides. We're going to make sure that when we do that, we're going to keep adding a layer of soil on to the screen of the earth box. Now if some of it goes down below, that's no biggie. Mainly though we're going to have water come up and we have a good supply of water and air coming of through the base. If you've got that you should have less root diseases and you should have a much healthier plant. Now the plant will actually develop roots that go down into the soil and down into the matted area, down to the screen. When you have that you’re going to have super results. For On Gardening, I'm Stan DeFreitas, "Mr. Green Thumb"."
