"Another way to tie the timber hitch is away from the log or whatever you might be pulling along. You start by creating your loop and just twisting it. Then you take that, put it under your log, and pull the other end of the rope through. And this isn't quite as good as the other one just because I think it takes a little more time to tie actually and I might not want to pull through an entire length of rope through like something just so I can do this rather than actually wrap it around. So anyway, the alternate way of tying the timber hitch. Just loop around, twist it several times, under the log, and pull this end through. Then tighten and pull away."
