"So like I mentioned in the last clip, the taut line has a lot of different uses for things that you actually want to have a sort of slipknot that you can get to stay in your rope and it's also a little easier to tie when you have some tension on it. So a good thing to not keep on the floor of your campsite is your rock climbing rope because it gets dirt in it and it's bad. It weakens it and you really don't want that when you fall and you're hanging on a rope. So a good way to get it off the ground is to find a tree or something that you can use. Since I'm on my balcony I just have this thing. Throw the rope over, kind of hoist it up, and also I don't use this rope for anything other than like tying stuff up and things that aren't for safety or that aren't going to be hanging over my head just because it does really weaken the rope to have it go over that way. So from this point you just take your rope in, pull it around, do your half hitch with the other run through since it's the taut line, and then do just a regular half hitch to finish it off. And you can tell any amount of weight I put on this it doesn't really slip a whole lot and you can adjust it simply by pulling it back, and you just apply a little pressure to that in order to get it to move back and forth. Anyway, that's how to use the taut line in the actual application."
