"Just like the overhand knot, the half hitch has many different variations. One that I like to use a lot is just kind of an easy to untie half hitch. You start just like the half hitch and go around, but the difference is that rather than pulling the end through you pull another loop through and that way you have kind of like this type of thing that you can untie just by pulling that through. It also works great with a double half hitch. You start with just a regular half hitch like so and then come back through with the half hitch with the little, with the loop through it. It makes an easy to untie double half hitch. I use this a lot when I'm tying like my camp stove bag to a rope that I might have, you know, going across trees and stuff just because I don't like to keep my stuff laying around on the ground if possible."
