"You want to take a look at how much bottom do you have, how much area that you can work with because this is going to go oblong. We're pretty much there. I'm going to take some of this clay and put it down. What I'm doing here is I'm taking the clay from the rim and I'm throwing it down and placing it into the belly because I want this to be a little bit on the thick side. Consistently thick, not thick bottom heavy thick like you don't know what you're doing, type of thing. I want this to be very consistent. Now, just take my finger and start making a little lip for this guy, kind of like that right there. Nice little lip there. I like to take this tool, this makes great little bellies. You just press it in. It makes it look pro, like that. Take your pottery knife, clean up any of the junk on the bottom, makes a nice little foot. Then, in here too. You've got to get your tool on the inside, you've got to find that bottom so this will come off of the bat very nicely."
