"So first we're going to learn how to tie just the basic figure 8 knot. Start with a rope, of course. You take it and form a loop at the bottom. You pull the end threw to make the figure 8. And you take that end and pull it threw on top of the first loop and it forms a figure 8 knot. As you tell, like I was talking about earlier, if your to use it as a stopping knot then you're to put it at the very end of the rope actually. You can see how if this was a thicker rope and it was moving around a lot, it could shake loose pretty easily. But anyway. So again, the basic figure 8 knot, create your first loop that sits on top. You'd bring it around through the bottom, make your figure 8 and you pull it through this way. That's the basic figure 8 knot."
