"There are many different ways to coil your climbing rope. Depending on what kind of climbing you tend to do, it's going to change how you like to coil your climbing rope. If you're a top rope kind of guy, you're generally going to want to have it, have both ends in the middle, or together, so that the middle point of the rope, is at another end. If you're a sport climber, which is where you clip in the leads as you go, and you clip in your rope to those, you're not going to be so concerned with where the center of the rope is, so you just start at one end, and work your way to the other. I'm going to show you two basic kind of coils, the mountaineer coil, and a butterfly, or backpack coil, and we'll take it from there."
