"So let's say you need to attach two ropes that are a lot different in size. You would still use the sheet bend, but with a slight variation known as the double sheet bend. Starts the same way, with the loop, the long side going that way, the short side going to the side, the short part of the loop goes over this way. Take the wider rope, pass it along, and through, so this is your sheet bend knot. In order to make it a double sheet bend, you just bring this through and around the rope one more time. So you can see that a little better, do it a little slower, so you have your U and on the bigger rope, and the like the crossed thing on the smaller rope. And you just take this around, over, and send it back through, and just creates like an extra little loop on the end there. This has more stability and helps to bind smaller ropes to significantly smaller ropes to wider ropes."
