"So one also might ask; why do I need to learn your knots? I can just tie knots randomly and make things work. And that's true, generally you can; you can just tie a random knot and knot up a rope. But knots are, the standard knots that people use are a lot easier to untie and they also don't damage your rope. If you have like a big jumble of knots in your rope, it's generally impossible to untie or very difficult and when you use them you're; you're hurting your rope and dangering yourself possibly, especially if you're using it for applications in rescuing or climbing; or stuff like that. So that's why knowing good knots is important."
