Series Summary

Grappling is a collection of martial arts techniques and strategies which consist of gripping, handling and controlling an opponent without the use of striking. Also referred to as submission wrestling, grappling moves and techniques are found in jujitsu, judo, traditional wrestling, and mixed martial arts. The strategies used to defeat an opponent can generally be divided into three sub-groups: throws, joint locks and pinning techniques, each of which can be used together or separately. Grappling moves are commonly used when teaching self-defense and by law enforcement officers. "O.k., stretching is very important. Now what we're going to focus on since we only have limited time here, we're going to focus on what I believe is very important and the most important for the Judo aspect of things. Feet, first thing we're going to do is we're want to go ahead and stick out one foot, some Sorai, do this with me. We're going to put the other foot over here in the figure four, going to rotate it about four times one side, four times the other side. We're going to play with the toes for about I'd say ten seconds each. And then we're going to go ahead and do the ball of our feet, the bridge, and we're going to do the heal. And we're going to go ahead and beat it up a little bit. And we'll do the same thing with the other foot. Same thing, the rotation, playing with the toes, the ball of the feet, the bridge, and the heel. That should get us pretty good with our feet, it should be nice and warm over there. And then we're going to go ahead and we're going to scoop back. We're going to go ahead and kind of roll back actually. We're going to go ahead and do the rolling motions straight back, have our legs touch, if they can, the ground behind us, just like this, then back. You do that a few times. And maybe the second time just let it linger there. Maybe you might want to keep it linger there for a few seconds and then go back down. And you might want to do that on the side too and the other side as well. Now lastly also, want to do this little exercise where we go ahead and put our feet together over here and then we go down and move your neck up and down, side and around the world. It's good for the back and the neck. Very crucial because we can damage the back really badly if something were to happen wrong and if we do not stretch correctly. Thank you."
