"In this clip I'm going to explain how to set up a digital recorder to record your event. First you'll need the appropriate cable. For me I'm going to be using this quarter inch k-mini cable. I plug the quarter inch in to the sub output of the mixer and then plug the mini into the digital recorder. To send signal to your digital recorder you need to assign your input channel to send signal to the sub output. You do this by toggling the sub output button above the input fader. Then set your sub output to zero or unity. Then speak in to the mike at a normal speaking voice and set the record level so that the average audio level reaches minus twelve DB. If your recording device is analog like a tape deck you want to record at zero DB. But a digital device will distort at zero DB. That's why you want to record at minus twelve. So that covers how to record your event."
