"And this is how--we're going to show you how to properly box out against several shots. First, the jump shot. Second, will be the free throw line. And third is going to be the layup. All right, so first, we're going to show Brian attempt to drive to the--I mean, to shoot a jump shot. And when he does so, he's going to--Brian on defense, is going to turn around and properly box him out, which is important in sealing the basket and the rim. Okay. Brian the defensive player, his whole point is to keep the offensive player from getting the rebound--I mean, from getting his own rebound, one, and two, keeping him from the basket and getting the rebound. He's going to do so by boxing the shooter out. This is what you call a box out. Shoot. This is where the defender gets low and blocks him from being able to get the rebound and the shot. But, it gives him a greater chance to get that miss--that missed shot from that shot. All right, boxing out."
