"This is where we position ourselves for the rebound. So, positioning yourself for a rebound is key to what type of shot is being shot. Is it going to be a different anticipation, or positioning if the shot is being shot from a jump shot, lay up, or free throw. Okay. First, we're going to properly position ourselves for a rebound after a player shoots a jump shot from the three point line. All right, we're going to walk you over to Brian. Brian, the offensive player, is going to shoot. So, from the three point line. Brian, the defensive player, has to anticipate--not only anticipate, but position himself properly to heighten his chances of making the rebound. Okay, so if he's on the left hand side of the key, he's going to shoot a ball, he turns around and positions himself in the center of the court, which gives him balance either way if the ball bounces off the left side of the rim, or the right side of the rim. But what we does is position himself, gets low, and gets ready for the bounce. And what he, after the shot has been shot, we'll show you the next part. Shoot. Positioning, explodes to the basket. That's after he knows where the ball has been. He can only get that rebound with only proper positioning and anticipation. And he did that by setting himself up wonderfully by giving himself a center of balance, an equal space on either side of the rim, to jump towards, if it goes left, or it goes right. And once the ball is missed, once you realize which spot it's going to, he'll explode to the basket for that rebound."
