"Another intro movement to snowboarding is called the falling leaf. The falling leaf is just as if you're coming down the mountain. You've already strapped in and you're coming down the mountain. It just gives you control on your heel side edge. The falling leaf it's all in your hips. You're going to be going down the mountain and you're going heel side, always on your heel edge, always going back and forth and back and forth. You're just on your heel edge the whole way down. You're just moving like a leaf. Going like this; going back and forth and back and forth. That just gives you control on your heel side edge, knowing how to stop, knowing how to control how fast you're going, because the more edge you put into it the slower you're going to come to a stop. If you're on an edge slightly then you're definitely going to have the falling leaf going, but if you're pushing on your edge too hard you're going to come to a complete stop. That's how you stop in snowboarding is on your heel side edge. Alright, so I'm going to be demonstrating how to do the falling leaf. Alright, I'm going to be going on my heel side edge throughout the whole time down the mountain. I'm going to be going back and forth, back and forth. Here I am all my weight is on my right foot. My weight switches to my left foot and then it switches back to my right foot, but I'm on my heel edge still. So, it's coming back onto my right foot, left foot. I'm doing the falling leaf. Now, I'm riding away since I have my speed. Don't want to be going too fast. Edge stop on your heel edge and you should stop perfect."
