"My name is Dr. Randall Hyde. I would like to summarize bed wetting or day time wetting. There's actually four different areas nocturnal Enuresis which is bed wetting, Diurnal Enuresis which is day time wetting. Primary Enuresis which is where a child has not had continence for a year or longer and secondary where a child struggles with, with Enuresis after they've had continence for a year and there is severe difficulty and mild difficulty. So with all of that all together. What we've found and what we've realized is that by in large the vast majority of kids struggle with a physiological genetic basis. It's out of their control. They try and so if you try and get a child to overcome Enuresis through motivation, reward and different things like this it's just going to frustrate you and the child. You need good help. It's incumbent upon you as a parent to find the best help available because it really can hurt your child emotionally. Their self esteem, confidence and so forth."
