"When you're shopping for hiking boots, it's really really important that it's going to be comfortable. So what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to bring an extra-thick sock. If you have hiking socks, that's great. Go ahead and bring one of the ones that you're planning on using. But sometimes I will even wear two socks. So I usually try my hiking boots on with two socks just to see if they'll fit 'cause if it's really cold outside I might want to wear two socks. So put on your big fat sock. And then you want to put on the hiking boot. And when you're lacing it up, you're going to want to get it really really tight. You basically want to get it as tight as can get it without making it uncomfortable for your foot to be in there. So you're just to the point of cutting off the circulation but not quite. So you're going to pull up really you pull up towards yourselves. And then you're going to hook it around the little lace holders, and then cross them. Pull up towards yourself to tighten. Hook it around the laces. Pull up towards yourself to tighten, and then you can tie it. And the best way that I found to figure out whether or not hiking boots work is to walk on a steep incline. So if you have like some stairs or if you have like a hill you can go down, walk down that hill and kind of jam your feet forward. And see if you're are climbing in to the end 'cause that's probably the most common problem. And if your feet are climbing in to the end, don't get the hiking boots. I mean obviously you're probably not going to have the opportunity to try in the store. But see what the return policy is. Bum around the house and really try to see if you can find a hiking boot that's extremely comfortable for you because it's really important when you're hiking."
