"Something else you need to think about, or a common mistake people make really is, if you're trying to boil water. If you've ever heard that it makes water boil faster if you put salt in it, it's not true. Don't do this because you're going to end up wasting propane doing it. It already takes a longer time to boil when you're at higher altitudes. The reason salt does not help water to boil is it actually raises the boiling temperature, so the water has to get to a higher temperature before it starts boiling when it has salt in it. So basically what that means for you is you're going to have to use more propane to get the water heated up to a higher temperature before it starts boiling. It helps cook things faster, but it doesn't make up for the amount of propane that you're going to be losing in order to get it up to the temperature that you need in order for the actual saltwater to boil. So don't make the mistake, don't put salt in your water to make it boil faster, because it doesn't actually do that. It's an urban myth."
