When you're thinking about the eating utensils that you're going to bring you also have to consolidate those things, cause' we're used to having you know, a spoon, a fork, a knife, a steak knife, etc, but you don't have enough room, and it's a lot heavier to carry all those different things. So think about, you know, are you going to need a fork, or a spoon. I usually pick a spoon, because if I have something that's like brothy, or it has you know it's like a stew, it's like a soup or something, I can get it all with a spoon. Some people prefer a fork, cause' they can just drink it, but you know, try it out and see which utensil, if you're only going to bring one, are you going to use. And for a knife, you don't need to bring like a butter knife, and a steak knife. Just bring one pocket knife, and that's a good thing to have just in case you need it. You can use it for everything. Make sure that it’s got a wide enough blade that you can spread peanut butter with it too; that you can use that knife for all of your knife needs, and hopefully, you'll only have to use those two utensils. You really shouldn't have to bring you know, a whole multitude of utensils on your backpacking trip.
