"Something else that's really important to bring along, especially if you're going to be backpacking in the mountains, is sunscreen. Even if you don't usually use sunscreen, the mountain air is, basically, thinner and you can get sunburn a lot more easily, than you normally would. So, be sure to bring sunscreen. Also, on top of bringing just regular sunscreen, you want to make sure that it's waterproof sunscreen because you're going to be sweating a whole lot and you don't want the sunscreen to just wash off. There's also mid-day rain storms, often times, in the mountains and they last for like twenty or thirty minutes and it'll disappear and the sun will come out again. You won't think about it but if you don't have waterproof sunscreen, you could get some serious burns. It's also good to wear a hat so that the top of your scalp doesn't get sunburned, that's something people don't think about a lot of the time. Also, to bring sunglasses because, in addition to the air being thinner and the sun, basically, reflecting into your eyes more. If you're hiking where there's snow, the sun reflecting off of the snow is actually really bright and it can damage your eyes. Be sure to protect yourself from the sun when you're hiking."
