"Something that you need to think about even if you have waterproof boots is after you wear waterproof boots for a while, the waterproofing will actually wear out. And so you can by this stuff in a can that is like this kind of putty, it's almost, it's really ,really waxy and basically what you do is you spread it like in an even layer on your boots and then you take a hair dryer and you're going to blow it on there and the heat makes it kind of melt and it will seep into the boots. And you know it may say you only need to do it once, but I like to go and do it basically over, and over, and over again until the boot can't take anymore until it's completely saturated with the stuff. And that's how you know it's going to be waterproofed and as far as the problem areas you need to worry about seams that's the big place where the waterproofing will go bad easily and in the tongue because it gets used so much. It's very flexible there and so the waterproofing will go bad quickly so be sure and take all the laces out and really, really get into those seems and really try to saturate your boot with all the waterproofing material as you much as you can cause the more waterproof your boot is the more comfortable you'll be on your trip."
