When you're trying to find a pack that fits yourself, I’d recommend going to an outdoor sporting goods store that really specializes in backpacking and outdoor sports like that. I'd recommend going there to find a pack that fits, but not necessarily buying one there. Maybe you find out whether you want an internal pack, or an external pack, but don't buy it there, because a lot of times it's really expensive. You can get them off the internet for way less, because people usually go backpacking a couple of times, and then ditch their packs, since they don't want to do it anymore, so go and try to figure out what you want, and then buy it somewhere else, but when you're trying to buy a backpack, you want to make sure that it fits, so this is going to be the same for an internal, or an external frame. First, you're going to want to put the backpack on, and put some weights in the back, so that it's actually got some pressure, because it's going to feel different if it's empty, and then what you're going to want to do, is you're going to want to put the waist belt on first. Now the idea behind the waist belt, is that most of the weight from the backpack, should be on the waist belt, so if you see, I can actually stand, and no weight is touching my shoulders, really. I can stand that way, and so you do want the backpack to be able to be like that. If you put the waist belt on, and it all weighs on your shoulders, then it's not big enough for you, so go ahead and find one where the waist belt is tight, and then you want to go ahead and cinch up the shoulder straps, so that it is snug against your back. You're going to want most of the weight on here, but you want to also distribute some of the weight on to your shoulders, so it's kind of finding a comfortable balance for you, and it's going to be different for everybody.
