"For feeding some showmen use a built in feeder which doesn't allow the hog to tip feed or waste feed during feeding. You want to be as efficient as possible when raising your hog. To keep your cost down and also keep the feeding and health of your hog as high and clean as possible. By allowing your hogs to root around while eating, they may pick up worms or different things in the pen. There might be a loose strand of wire and you want to insure that during feeding and watering that it's as safe and clean as possible. Many showmen choose a to use a fourtex feed tub. The fourtex feed tub is easy bendable and assures that your hog is not harmed at all during feeding. Some of these built in feeders, ear tags tend to get caught in them and rip them out. For these market hogs you want to ensure that your carcass is as clean and undamaged as possible. That pig is my pig, it's about three months old and right now they are eating out of their food troughs and they also have water over there cause they always need to have fresh water."
