"In this segment we're going to talk about flexibility and motion in our dogs. You want to have them in side laying position, and you never want to pull from the end of their limbs, you want to support up closest to the body. And if you're stretching the front limbs, what you want to do is put your hand right behind the shoulder blade and you're going to support the bottom of the limb, and just slowly bring them up into a stretch. I call it the "Superman". Good girl Cinderella! And we can do the same forward motion on the hind limb. And if they're not comfortable laying down into a side laying position, you can always work with what they're doing. You never want to force them into a position they're uncomfortable because you can break their limbs. So you're going to go nice and slow, always supporting, doing the motion of the pushing with the hand closest to the body, and you can bring them forward. And again when you go into a back stretch, you're just going to support on the lower end of the limb, and get your hand as close into the body, this is the flank of the dog, and push it back. And go very slow to make sure you're not over-stretching to where they're uncomfortable."
