"In this clip we're going to talk about how to massage a temperamental dog. There are occasions where if your dog is being temperamental, you may just want to let them walk away and come back when they're ready. If your dog is overly temperamental, they may not be in the mood for massage and you could do more harm than good. But if the dog is just a little distracted and does want to get the massage, but it’s moving a lot, you can take the collar and clip your finger right underneath. Just use one finger, you don't want to pull on the collar, but you just want to let them know that you are here and "I am holding you". Another thing you can do is bring your whole arm right around the front of the body and don't hold on to them so tight, but just gently let them know that they're not going forward. And if you're working on the hind end of the dog, and they want to go somewhere, you can do the same by wrapping your hand around the end of their legs and right in front here, when they're standing, if they're sitting. Things to remember is not to pull the tail, keep that alone."
