"In this segment, we're going to talk about how to loosen a dog's muscles through massage. We're going to start with the back. And what you want to do is get your finger on either side of the spine and you're going to do a little bit of friction by coming away from the spine and then giving about two pounds worth of pressure, depending on the size of the dog. If you have a dog under twenty pounds, you're going to use about one pound of pressure. And, if you have a dog over a hundred pounds, you can use a little bit more than two pounds of pressure. You want to make sure to get both sides of the muscle evenly. So make sure once you do one side, you do the other. The same as we move to the legs. You can do some wringing so, if you're on the front of the leg, you can take your hand and just wring up and down to help loosen any muscles that are tight and come all the way up through the shoulders and keep coming on back down. And this is creating heat into the muscles helping them to warm up and loosen. And on the back, the same thing. You can bring your dog into a standing position and come all the way around the thigh, being careful not to put too much pressure on the knee or onto the thin calcaneus muscle, so loosen your pressure. And, then as you come back up, you can get more deep as you go into the glut muscles."
