"Now, when you're painting it's easy to get so involved in what you're doing that you don't take an objective look at it. Stand back, it's really important. Every once in a while, just to like get up, and stand back, move away from the painting, you know, go to the back of the room, come back, go back. Try different like, move around, also sometimes turn the canvas around, and look at it. When you move back and forth when you're looking at your canvas, you can catch when you're going out of proportion, when you're doing figures, things like that. You also can see like what, what's darker, what's lighter, you get better idea of what's going on in your painting. It's really important also when you're starting out your painting, you're just doing the blocking in of the colors, to go back and forth and look at it. You want to remember to do that. It's hard to remember when you get all involved, but just try and keep moving backwards and forwards when you're painting."
