"Let's talk about a relatively new technique for jigging. And as most anglers know using a new technique that fish haven't seen before is often a really, really good way to get some high catch rates. We're going to talk about using a jig with plastic finesse lures. And essentially these come in a few different varieties. They're available in many different colors. Essentially they imitate a small bug, maybe a red blood worm that's found in the water column that a lot of pan fish feed heavily on. These I just have are pink and red. They come in green, yellow, chartreuse, glow colors. All sorts of different colors. Very popular in the mid west right now which is kind of the heart of pan fishing through the ice. And they're very easy to rig. You simply take your hook almost just like putting on a worm or a night crawler. You just bend those around to the back of the hook. Leave a little bit hanging off. You can rig them in a number of different ways but the main point as you can see that just that slight movement of my fingers imparts a tremendous action on that jig. And when that's in the water column and you're just very subtly tapping your rod that a lot of times will really bring the pan fish in and you can have a great day."
