"I think it's important in a discussion of craps to talk generally about odds. Now if you want to look up specific odds, they're all over the internet and can be found in handy little books about craps at your bookstore. The key thing to remember about craps is that you're more likely to roll a seven than anything else. Let's just do some random rolls. That's a three, six, eleven, eight. I'm disproving everything here with randomness. How about that? There's a six. No seriously, I'm not kidding. You're more likely to roll a seven than anything else. There's a seven, six, seven. See that? Two sevens came within three rolls. So the way the game is set up in a casino is that long term, because of the casino rules, you're never going to beat the game. But it can be a lot of fun if you just say, "okay, once a year on the night before my birthday, I'm going to go to the casino and enjoy myself playing a game of craps." The thing to remember is that you're more, you're most likely to hit a seven and then you're next most likely to hit an eight or a six. The further out you get from seven, if seven's the middle, the less likely you are to hit the number."
