"Let's talk now about how to bait a hook for a tip up with an artificial bait. And they make all sorts of artificial baits now these happen to be artificial maggots, they're impregnated with all sorts of scent which disperses in the water, attracts the fish. You can get them as maggots, they have them as minnows, as worms now. This is going to be more for if you're fishing for pan fish, perch, sunfish, if you're fishing for trout. Not a common technique but these baits are relatively new, maybe within the past three or four years. So I think that as time goes by they are going to catch on in popularity. Again you just put your hook right through it, for a larger size hook like this and a bait this size I'd probably put on four or five maybe six so I'd cover the entire hook with them. As an alternative you could hook them lengthwise to cover more of the hook with them. Again all sorts of different colors and shapes, but when the fishing is tough this might be something you want to try."
