How to Tie a Hook for Ice Fishing

"One of the most important skills that any angler needs to know is how to tie a hook to a line. And there's dozens and dozens of different knots that you can use in different situations, and for different techniques. But there's one knot that I use literally 99 percent of the time, and I'm just going to show it to you with this thicker line, because it'll be easier to see, but typically this is what I would use to tie mono-filament to my hook. And you just put the line through the eyelet as you see here, put up a tab, maybe 2-3 inches, and then you just twist the line away from you, take the tag end, put it through the bottom most loop, bring it back through the other loop; I usually pull on it with my teeth to make it tight. And then one of the most important things to do is always put the line in your mouth for a minute, just to lubricate that knot, and then you just simply pull it tight until it reaches the bottom of the hook, tug on it a little bit to make sure it's secure, trim this tag end almost down to the knot, and you're ready to fish."
