"There have been studies that show a properly applied polo wrap, is going to be the best way to support your horse's tender tendons and ligaments, as they go in to strenuous exercise. You want to know how to correctly wrap or roll them. You want to start with the Velcro pieces positioned together, and then continue to roll them as tightly as possible, in that same direction. A tightly applied polo wrap can stay on for as long as four hours, without interfering with their circulation. Also, polo wraps are relatively inexpensive, as compared to the high dollar that some of the best boots provide, when you go to buying and purchasing, you'll find this to be a better deal. We want to start correctly, not sitting on the ground, but kneeling next to the horse. I'm going to place my tail of the polo wrap, here at the center. I'm going to continue to go around. She's kind of a small legged horse, so we may find that this a little bit long. I can trim it, if I'm going to continue to use this polo wrap, with this same horse. As I start to go and it's secure, I'm going to now go down halfway each time, pulling snugly as I go. The wrap is rolling close to her side, and along the line, so that I'm pulling the tendon to the inside. That offers the best support possible. I want to make sure that I cup her fetlock joint, which provides the most structural stability, as we now come back up.You know you're on the right track, when you create a little V shape here, as these layers overlap. I continue to go up, wrapping until we get to the top, and this worked out pretty well. I think I've already cut the end of this, to make sure that it provides good support, to the smaller legged horse. Make sure the Velcro is securely in place, and before I would go out and run this horse, I'd put a strip of duct tape around, just to secure it, for my day of competition."
