Looking at the parts as we move through the body, we might start with that the important bone called the wither. We know that's where the saddle needs to rest and we want to look at that part. We then have the large shoulder; the elbow; and the forearm, which then takes us to the girth; the barrel; the back; the loin and the flank. And then coming up on the top again we would find the croup; the dock, which is where the tail is attached. We have our hip and then what we call the point of the hip back here. That takes us in to the very important stifle. We've talked before about how our leg equates to the parts to the horse. This is the knee that equates to the stifle, the point of my hip and then the hip at the pelvis itself. Then we have our gaskin that will take us in and through to the leg. Those would be the major parts of the horse's body that we would want to learn and consider.
