Growing Cuban Oragno

"Hi, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Green Thumb. An herb that you may not have grown, but probably should try is, I have Cuban Oregano. Our Cuban Oregano is very fragrant, you can just break a leaf, or touch a leaf and you're going to find that it has a real aromatic fragrance. It can be used in many dishes, and of course, it's one that probably likes a little heavier soil. By that, I mean add a little bit more peat moss, something to kind of hold that moisture around the Cuban Oregano because it's a good moisture lover. In other words, every couple of days, you're going to have to make sure it gets watered, especially if it's in an area where it gets a lot of wind going by and if you're having a lot of full sunlight, it will probably dry out a little bit quicker. So every second, maybe every third day, take your finger and kind of check that soil and see if it's getting moist; if it's getting too dry, well, get out that watering can and make sure that this plant gets irrigated. As far as fertilization, probably about every three or four weeks with a water soluble, if you're starting if off from the beginning, you may use one of the time release fertilizers, and it should do well also. Full sun to partial shade, it will actually get bigger and stronger in full sun and partial shade it's going to get little bit longer and a little big leggier. Cuban Oregano makes an excellent plant for many different uses; you can use it along with some of the chicken dishes and different herb combinations.
