"Hi, I'm Stan DeFreitas, "Mr. Green Thumb". Zucchini, an excellent vegetable and one that's pretty easy to grow. I'd make sure that it gets about 6 hours of bright sun a day, don't put it in a shady spot, make sure it gets a good deal of moisture, and improve the soil. Add extra peat moss, extra cow manure to the planting soil. How much? Well I'd probably add at least, oh, up to about 50 percent organic matter to your planting vegetable soil, especially for the zucchinis. Now they do get some problems with mildew on occasion, so you may have to find a good fungicide that labels itself for that. I've used over the years something like dithane 45, but there's other good general fungicides that label themselves for mildew as well. Make sure you keep the moisture off the foliage as much as you can. But also by having it in a bright sunny spot, it should dry off early in the morning. Make sure you've got it in a spot where you can get a hose to it, where they do require a good deal of moisture even though you want that soil to be pretty well drained as well.
