"Well now that I have the jig set up on the table saw and I have this little spacer block, I explained about that, butted it right up against that. We should have half an inch right here. And we're going go ahead and slide this forward up to the blade. And using my handy little tapper, just tap this jig over. Just right there, just so this side of this block, just contacts the blade. You want to spin the blade a little bit. It should just make a slight, slight rustling noise as it goes over the blade. Okay, that looks pretty good. Again, we're going to tighten the jig and makes sure it stays right there. We'll move this. This will come out. Next step now is going to be to change the height of this blade so that it's three quarters instead of half an inch, because that's the stock we're going to cut. So I've got a piece of stock here that's three quarters of an inch, we'll check it out. Its three quarters of an inch thick. So lay this down next to the blade. Let me do it on this side so you can see what I'm doing. And we'll raise the blade up until it's flush with the top. Now on this setting, the depth is really critical on this. It has to be flush. That feels almost there, almost. Sometimes you want to come up so it's a little bit high and then come back down. So that looks like it's going to be just right for our depth of cut. Now I'm going to cut a slot right here and as you can see it from what I just did, the insert and the tightening down, when I slide this up it's going to cut a half inch wide slot, three quarters of an inch deep, exactly half an inch away from that block. So let's get a piece of stock and we'll make a test cut."
