"O'kay, whoopee, we've got a test slot cut here now let me loosen the jig up, just enough so I can raise it up a little bit and take one of these 1/2 inch plugs that I've cut and fit it into that hole. This should be really snug and again with the tapping. This part can be a little bit tricky. There we go. Good that fits good and snug and we're still flat against the table top so now we're ready to make our second test cut and we're going to use this second block that we made and put that block which is also 1/2 inch right next to this and we're just going to put it nice and flat against that and I'm going to grab my clamp and clamp that in place. This is the most critical part of this jig. The whole point of this jig is to make sure that the distance from the edge of this block to the edge of this block is exactly 1/2 inch. If it is any less your fingers won't fit and if it is any more, they'll be sloppy. So you want to take a minute and make sure that that is totally flush. Even clamped up like mine is now I can see that there's about the thickness of a hair between the two so I'm going to tighten that up like that and tap it over a little bit until that is nice and flush and now we are going to get a piece of stock, no actually we're not, we're going to make our second cut and then I'll show you what this cut has to do what that cut and how we step it over to make the fingers."
