"Good morning and welcome to Mikey's Workshop. Today we're going to make a finger jig. A finger jib is a set up for your table saw that cuts slots like this. These slots are used to make those little wooden boxes you see with finger sets and that is why they call them finger joints. Now I have a finger joint already made, this is my old one but I've beat it up and made so many cuts with it and turned it upside down and cut slots and just generally worn it out so I need a new one and that's what we're going to make today. I'm starting out with a piece of 3/4 inch plywood that is 14 and 1/2 inches long and 4 and 1/2 inches wide. That happens to be the correct size for my saw. Your saw may have different dimensions and we'll get into that in a minute but first I'm going to show you the kind of tools that we're going to need to do this project."
