"So, what you will need to make the Polaroid lift will be a pot of boiling water. The water needs to be very, very hot. Hot enough, like sort of you were going to blanch a tomato. You need tongs. I like these metal tongs, because they can really grip on and hold on well without tearing the surface of the emulsion. That can happen when your emulsion is really that hot. So, you need that. You'll need a tray to put your water in. And, you'll also need a piece of glass to slide that emulsion off of the receptor onto. Again, a very important piece of equipment. I always try to get a piece of glass that have the edges beveled down. You don't want to be working with sharp glass. Once you have that, you need your image. And, I like to use a little bit of soap or a little bit of photo flow in the water as I'm squeezing off that image. I feel that it just kind of gives it a little bit more of a push to get it off and it just seems to go onto my paper much better. The other thing you need too, is a little cutting board. Because, when you're going to get that image upside down on your paper you want to flip it. Take it off that cutting board."
