"To start off our talk today about organic fertilizing, I would like to give you an idea of what organic really means. In the natural world the compounds are created by nature. In the in the chemical world the compounds are created in the laboratory. Organic refers to the natural environment. Leaves are organic; added to a compost pile they are great. A phosphorus coming out of the ground is organic. Blood meal coming from a byproduct from the animal industry is an organic process, an organic compound that put together; we can create healthy green plants, like this tomato plant. This plant does not have to be pumped with chemicals to give us what we're looking for. Organic is not just science, organic has art. Organic let's us create from our own environment; wherever we live, plants that can give us food, plants that can give us incredible flowers, food for the stomach, food for the soul. This is what organic is about; it's about being natural."
