"And next we'll make a strap. I'm going to make my strap out of an old, recycled belt. This is just a soft leather that's easy to sew. You can also make a strap out of a piece of denim. And for this I'll just take this already made belt and we'll cut two strips and make a nice little strap. So the soft leather of these old leather belts sews rather easily, and I've taken the belt and cut it in two so I can have two straps. And you just fold it over. This side is already hemmed, so I want to hem the other side. And you just fold it over. I've put in a coordinating thread. I've got some nice pink thread to go with my pink leather. And you just sew it, hem it over like that. Just fold it over and sew right through. Okay, so next we're going to sew, I'm going to trim off the top here, and next we'll sew our straps into our little purse. So first I need to go back to my blue thread that matches the denim. Okay, and you simply place the strap inside by the side seam, and then we'll just secure that with some stitching in between the two pockets. So it's going to be rather thick so you'll need to sew carefully and slowly. And it may be a little difficult to get the, the machine, get the foot onto that area. So you want to go very carefully, very slowly. And sew back and forth a few times to reinforce it. You could also sew the, the strap in with hand sewing if you want. If it's too thick at this point for your machine to handle, you can just get some heavy thread and hand sew that in. I'm going, I'm turning it, instead of going reverse. I'm stopping after each time that I, I sew and turning it around because in the reverse, it, it's more likely to jam the machine or have a problem. So if you, going forward is always easier for the machine. Okay, and then that's secured nicely. And just secure the other side and then we'll tie them together. So we've sewed our straps in and now all we need to do is tie them together at the top. We're just doing a square knot and you have a cute little pocket purse."
