"Now I'm go to show you two different ways to finish off the bottom of our handbag. The first way I'm going to show you is to make a panel that will fit into the bottom, and the second way is very easy. It requires no panel insert. So we'll start with the panel and I'm going to need a piece that, well I'll need a couple of strips that are four inches wide and a little bit longer or than, or as long as the width of your handbag. So I'm going to take this leg that we had cut off in the beginning and just open it up so that I can have a length of that fabric and I want two strips four inches wide. So first I'll trim off the top to make it straight, and then I'll cut two four inch strips. And we're going to sew together the four inch strips and sort of quilt them to make it extra strong. Give it a little bit more heaviness on the bottom of the bag. You could even sew in a little bit of interfacing in here if you want to make it a nice stiff bottom. So for the quilting we'll put the two pieces together and we'll go to the machine and quilt them together."
