"OK. I'm going to show you something that you're going to use when you're going to be changing between your instruments and you're going to be using your control surface to do so. Because, you'll be using your keys on your control surface for different instruments and different parameters and just using Reason, just, in general. So, basically under your preferences you can actually choose a couple different options. You have a master keyboard input. Now, you can choose either out of two options. You can choose standard or separated. Now, under standard it'll say master key input to selected track. Now, basically what that means is when you're using Reason you'll have your sequencer down here and whichever item you're going to be using will be selected with a red box. Basically the red box means that there is midi. This is the instrument that is selected, that the controller surface will be using and also if you see here or if you're here, I'm playing here. OK. There is also some green that appears at the bottom of the keys that shows that there is midi input coming into the signal. So, that's all working correctly. So, then if you choose separated it's an independent selection and master keyboard output. Now, basically what this means is you can click on different tracks, but you will still be controlling the same instrument which is the filtered chords down here that is selected with the red box. The only way that you can change it is if you actually click on a different instrument and it becomes red. You have to click on the instrument inside of this track area. Now, you are on a different surface there. So, that is how you use your master keyboard preferences."
