Yoga poses have become increasingly popular as a form of exercise and meditation. The focus of yoga is a holistic one, employing a broad range of practices which focus on a new way of living, thinking and being in the world. Aimed to unite the mind, the body, and the spirit, the health benefits of yoga are also great and varied. From relieving stress to strengthening and toning muscle, integrating yoga positions and exercises into your daily routine can be beneficial on many levels. An aspect of yoga that is less common is the yoga massage. Yoga positions can be used by both giver and receiver to administer a safe and effective full body massage. In this free yoga video series, a yoga expert will demonstrate which yoga poses are best for giving massages as well as how to keep yourself and the receiver safe. Practice these massage moves on a friend to clear their mind and eliminate toxins from the body.
"I'm going to do a nice relax, relaxation series here with Sarah. And I'm going to start with the sun moon stroke. So I'm going to take one hand on her belly. Kind of right over the belly button. Place the other hand on top, and just start slowly making circles in a clockwise motion. Keeping gentle pressure, not pressing down too hard, but just enough where she's getting a little bit of a release. It's a nice start to a relaxation series. And I'm going to slowly come to a stop, and go in the other direction. I'm being very mindful, not to press down too hard. I want her to start really relaxing. After an act of Tai yoga practice. Perfect. And then I come to a stop. I'm going to lay a brick on her belly, I'm going to gently pressing down. I can feel her heart beat. Ease up. And again. Just gently ease down lay a little brick on the belly. Hopefully I aided her digestion just a little bit. And then gently release."
