"Now we're going to be talking about the grip for your serve. For many beginners, it's easier to use just the hand shake grip or your forehand grip which was the one that you just bring your racquet down and hit it here. This grip is really good because it gives you a really flat serve just by the way you're contacting the ball. You can get a close look at the, at the, at the, at the grip as you can see, the racquet just have a tendency to hit the ball right in front of you for going forward. The only problem with this grip is that you cannot have spin on your shot and one of the very important things on your serve besides putting it in over the net and inside the small square is to give variety, give direction and give variety to your shots and you're going to, you can only accomplish that by having a different grip. In this case, the hammer grip. The hammer grip is a very good grip that's going to give you a lot of spins and variety. Just if you can get a; if you look closely to my grip, I'm going to shift it to my forehand grip you can see I contact the ball right in front of me. But if I shift it to my continental or hammer grip, you're going to see that it's not that easy to have a strong wrist, just the way my wrist is position it, it's not that easy; but that my wrist is going to tilt just barely and that's kind of what is going to help me to get the speed on my serve and have the affect that I want to accomplish."
