Summary: Maximize your upper body workout with stairs. Learn how to do push ups on stairs in this free exercise video from a personal fitness trainer.
"This exercise is push ups, using your stairs in your house or you can go to your front porch and do some push ups on your stairs there, as well. I'm going to show you a couple of variations that you can do. Starting off, you want to have your toes on the floor, your knees on the floor and your hands are nice and wide. We're going to focus on the chest. You want to just come down, lower your chest towards the stairs and push right back up again. Your breathing is inhale down, exhale up. When you feel comfortable, at that level, then you can start to plank a little bit more. Tuck your buttocks under and lower your chest down and push up, with your feet up off the floor, down and up. Now, you're breathing, inhale down, exhale up. You can perform push ups for about a minute and then, to make it really challenging, come up off your knees, you're on your toes, tuck your pelvis under, pull your shoulders back, lower down and push up. Inhale down, exhale up. Remember, it's all about lowering your chest down to the stairs, not your nose. Those are your push ups on the stairs."
