"The first step in our sun salutations is to begin in mountain pose, so let's start at the top of our mats, standing with our feet about hip distance apart. Standing tall here in mountain pose, we're going to inhale, and sweep our arms upward. And as we exhale, we're going to bend through the knees slightly, so that we can keep a long spine, and we're going to swan dive into a forward bend. Now you can continue to bend your knees as much as needed in order to get the hands to the floor, as we move into the next portion of our sun salutation. So we can practice that swan diving, inhaling up, exhaling, and diving. And you can get a feel for that swan diving a few times, making sure we bend the knees a little bit, and that's going to allow the spine to stay long, rather than rounding forward, which is what we want to avoid in order to avoid any pressure into the low back."
