"We started on open strings playing our walking bass line so let's try the simple arpeggio now. We are going to play in the key of F. If you remember where your F is we are going to be starting here with our first finger on the E string. We are back in half position so back closer to the nut, about one inch out from there. The three notes that we want for this are F, open A, and C on the A string with the fourth finger. Notice that all four fingers go down together to play that note and that we are not pressing the fingertips to whiten them, we are just using the weight of our arm to pull that note back and get it to sound nice. So again playing up and down this line it is F, A, C, A, F, A, C, A. Keep saying those note names so you'll learn them and you can also move it over and try it on the other strings. So now you are really getting a lot of different keys under your belt and getting familiar with ways to play this bass line all over the bass."
